DALY CITY—A paraglider was killed on Sunday, May 17 after his glider crashed into a coastal cliff in Daly City.

The paraglider, who’s identity has not been made public, crashed in the Mussel Rock area of the popular paragliding grounds, a tricky section of coastline that has been known to yield such crashes.

Following initial reports of this crash, which came in at approximately 9:30 a.m., crews were dispatched to Westline Drive near Mussel Rock.

Using ropes to rappel down the cliff face, the first responders eventually reached the paraglider and attempted to revive him. After several attempts, he was declared dead at the scene of the crash.
