HOLLYWOOD—A few surprises were delivered to audiences during episode 10 “A Dark Ali,” which saw the Queen Bee continue to reveal that she isn’t the reformed person she wants everyone to think that she is. At the police station, Alison (Sasha Pieterse) and her dad came face-to-face with Cyrus, the man responsible for the ‘kidnapping’ of Ali. The liars were upset with Ali’s admission that she told authorities she didn’t know the suspect, as the ladies suspected “A” was up to their old tricks.
Hanna (Ashley Benson), Spencer (Troian Bellisario), Aria (Lucy Hale) and Emily (Shay Mitchell) speculated what to do with the new evidence that has been presented to them. Spencer alerted the ladies of Noel’s (Brant Daugherty) insurance policy that she was planning to stash in a safe spot at her home. That spot turned out to be her couch, which “A” knows all too well.
Ella (Holly Marie Combs) was a complete mess, dealing with her break-up, which prompted Aria to do her best to brighten her mother’s spirits. Hanna decided to play clean-up to get Caleb (Tyler Blackburn) to wise up to his bad habits. Spencer was alarmed to learn that the recording Ali gave her was stolen, just as Melissa (Torrey DeVitto) entered the premises. She received a call from “A” with the recording of Ali’s tape. Hmm, that means a possible Hastings is behind the theft?
Spencer watched footage from her backyard as Melissa spoke to a mystery person, which prompted little sis to suspect that Melissa is working with Cyrus, the guy who claimed to kidnap Alison. “The truth doesn’t amount to much from a bunch of liars,” quipped Aria. Indeed a clever line of the night! Spencer devised the plan of perhaps confessing to the police, which was a risky move. Aria played catch-up with Ezra (Ian Harding) about new developments involving Alison.
Emily was stunned to learn from Ali that she knows Cyrus and the scar on her leg came from him in an abandoned basement. She urged Ali to not fall into “A’s” new trap. Back at school Hanna and Mona (Janel Parrish) competed for a lead in the chorus, but not before Mona took a ‘fall.’ Inside Mona’s bag, Hanna spotted a mug shot of Cyrus. Looks like Mona could definitely be working with Melissa.
Spencer and Emily quipped about what to do with Noel’s evidence, which placed Emily in a tricky situation with a secret Ali informed her about. Ezra decided to confront Ali about her current predicament, but the conversation was interrupted by Ali’s father, which alarmed Aria. Mona found herself busted by Hanna who was aware her former BFF was up to no good once again. At the police station, Mona accessed Lt. Tanner’s phone as Ali and her dad met with authorities.
At the Hastings abode, Melissa confronted Spencer about searching the barn, and Spence quipped about her sister attempting to take a vacation. Finally, Melissa acknowledged that she knows Ali was not kidnapped, and informed her sister of a secret that she can’t reveal just yet. Melissa dropped a bombshell admitting that it is not safe for her or Spencer to be in Rosewood; she then asked her sister to come with her.
Tanner took Ali back to her hideout, which prompted some scary flashbacks for the teen. The audience learned that Ali may have been romantically involved with Cyrus, who snapped when Ali attempted to collect her bag from him. He cut her on her leg. Hanna and Mona traded spars about their recent actions, and proved that lying is still in her genes with Mona close by. Aria clued Ella about her complicated relationship with Ezra and how her emotions are being toyed.
Emily confronted Ali about identifying Cyrus as her assailant; and harsh words were unleashed, and Emily indicated she was done, really done with Ali! Aria, Spencer, Emily and Hanna believed that Ali can’t be trusted and decided to cut her loose. The final moments of the episode revealed Ali dressed as Vivian Darkbloom meeting up with Cyrus about the deal that they made. She handed him a passport to get out of town, he made threats about the ‘truth’ about how they know each other. She made threats informing her ‘friend’ to not make mistakes. Wow, looks like everything Ali has stated up to this point could be a complete lie.
The episode concluded with Melissa recording something on tape for Spencer before it was too late. In the final moments, “A” was seen folding up a black hoodie and a candy stripe nurse outfit. I must say “A’s” folding skills are exceptional. Next week is going to be a good one; it is the episode before the #fAtaleFinale! Until next week “PLL” fanatics!
