HOLLYWOOD—Its always a treat to see the nefarious Mona (Janel Parrish) return to the “Pretty Little Liars” canvas, as seen in the latest episode ‘The Guilty Girls Handbook.’ Emily (Shay Mitchell) and Pam (Nia Peeples) found themselves shacking in a hotel after a vehicle crashed through their house.  Emily was quite somber as her mom attempted to reason what happened; she knows who did it, but she would not divulge that “A” was behind it.

“’A’ really likes to throw cars at people,” quoted a curious Spencer (Troian Bellisario).  Mrs. Hastings (Lesley Fera) delivered bad news to Hanna (Ashley Benson) that her mom would not be coming home anytime soon. The news shook Hanna, Spencer and Aria (Lucy Hale) to the core, as they did their best to comfort their BFF. Hanna was in a downward spiral, as her emotions began to take a toll on her behavior.

Aria was not too happy to learn that her brother Mike is taking a class at the same martial arts school, as she is.  Awkward!  Wonder how Mike will respond when he discovers that his sis is dating another teacher that he knows.  Aria sure does have bad judgment. Ezra (Ian Harding) probed a bit into Emily’s situation; he knows that something is up, but none of the girls are willing to open up, perhaps he should play investigator.

Spencer chatted with Caleb (Tyler Blackburn) about Hanna’s impending situation and probed him about the whereabouts about Nigel. The buzz around CeCe (Vanessa Ray) is continuing to grow. Hanna got the opportunity to chat with her mom about what happens next. It’s so sad; these two have a bond that is stronger than the relationship than any of the other liars with their mom.

Hanna reached out to the only person that she knows who could help her mom; her former BFF Mona!  The plan in motion: confess to killing Detective Wilden to save her mom.  Is Hanna crazy or is the plan genius?  The authorities will have a complicated case if more than one person is suspect in Wilden’s murder.  Let’s face it; he wasn’t the most lovable cop in Rosewood. Mona speculated that she could have been behind setting up Ashley, hmm?  “You’re the only one who knows how to live in a lie,” said Hanna to Mona. The evil baddie was quite convincing in coaching her friend.

Spencer snooped in files while her mom’s paralegal assisted on the case. Aria met with Jake (Ryan Guzman) to discuss her brother’s current situation. It doesn’t seem like Rosewood without a visit to the good ole’ Radley Sanitarium.  Spencer returned to the place that helped her doing her mental breakdown to visit her pal, Eddie Lamb.  The surprise on his face when she presented him legal documents connecting him to Wilden was priceless. She realized that Detective Wilden questioned Lamb about how Toby’s mother died.  He kept confidential information. This is an interesting twist that I did not see coming, can’t wait to see what else is unearthed.

Caleb chatted with Ashley (Laura Leighton) about Hanna’s current state of mind and asked him to take care of Hanna to keep her out of trouble. Mona continued intense interrogations with Hanna to prepare her for the ultimate confession to save her mother. I love Mona when she’s angry! She should become a lawyer. Caleb was not happy to see Mona, neither was she happy to see him. Hanna did her best to push Caleb out of her life.  Looks like Toby might have some competition for Spencer’s affection as a new guy has caught the investigative teen’s eye.

Aria jumped to conclusions and had Jake come to her place with her concerns for Mike. She has become such a needy character this season; where is the Aria that the audience has come to love the last three seasons. “Prison for kids is still prison,” said Caleb to Hanna.  What an amazing quote because it screams resonance. It was heartbreaking to see Pam break down in front of her daughter. This “A” has no remorse for the lives that are being ruined. Mona walked into the police station confessing to murdering Detective Wilden.  At first, I didn’t suspect that to happen, but it makes sense the more you think about it.

Spencer admitted to her mom that she stole a file from her evidence box about Detective Wilden, Radley Sanitarium and Toby’s mom. Her mother was not receptive to the news.  Veronica was stunned to receive a call about Mona confessing to Wilden’s murder. All of the liars showed up to the station to provide support to their former nemesis. It looks as if she is indeed on the lairs side.  Hanna’s owes her friend big time.

The final moments of the episode saw “A” drilling several holes into a room. What room is the big question?  All I could tell was that a chair was in the room above. I have a feeling its Alison’s house.  Next week’s look to provide clues to the upcoming summer finale! Until next week “PLL” fanatics!
