HOLLYWOOD—The elusive “A” was out for blood in episode two ‘Turn of the Shoe.’  The episode opened with the girls discussing the elusive woman dressed in black.  Spencer (Troian Bellisario) ignored questions about her missing sister Melissa (Torrey DeVitto) who could be the woman dressed in black, as she used French fries as a way to devise how ‘Red Coat’ rescued the girls from the fire.  Mona (Janel Parrish) was fed up with the girls not believing her.  The liars appeared to turn their backs on Mona not believing that she didn’t get rid of the trailer.

The woman in black then attempted to strangle Mona, but not before attempting to run down Aria (Lucy Hale), Mona and Emily (Shay Mitchell) with her vehicle. Hanna was surprised to see Ashley (Laure Leighton) back home from her trip to New York.  She informed her mommy that she went to Detective Wilden’s funeral, which she was a bit aloof to it.  Ashley wasn’t somber about hearing the news involving Wilden.  She was a bit stunned when Hanna revealed that she found her phone.

Spencer was sent a devastating blow when she discovered that she didn’t get into the University of Pennsylvania.  She is indeed an overachiever, but caught Toby in a bit of a lie.  Hmm, can the liars trust him, don’t think so and Toby wasn’t open as he concealed answering his phone, while dodging his girlfriend’s questions.

Hanna (Ashley Benson) was a bit stunned to discover that “A” attempted to run the girls down with Mona’s car.  Frustrated with things, she decided to confront Shana (Ariel Miranda) face-to-face.  “Saving that seat for your gal pal, Jenna,” uttered a frustrated Hanna.  She was out for blood and not afraid to call Shana’s bluff which unnerved her a bit.  She realized the girls know about her history. Paige (Lindsey Shaw) was thinking a bit ahead of the game with setting up dorm plans at Stanford, just as Emily discovered her shoulder is in much more pain than she expected.

Spencer decided to reach out to Mr. Fitz (Ian Harding) about not getting into University of Pennsylvania.  She was an emotional wreck.  Doesn’t she know its okay not to follow theHastingslegacy.  Its ok to venture outside of the box to something new.  Mr. Fitz did a great job soothing her wounds.  Hanna begged Emily to talk to Paige about Shana, just as she decided to take pain pills.  Hanna stumbled upon her mother’s bag that included muddy stilettos and other items.

Aria decided to take self-defense classes and took a liking to her instructor Jake (Ryan Guzman); looks like someone is moving on from her former love.  She was quite flirty with her new instructor giving him a kiss, but later apologized for her actions.  Aria spotted Mona speaking to a detective, which prompted Aria to scoop up her new BFF about not revealing information about what happened.  She revealed the authorities found a woman’s heel footprints at the crime scene where Wilden may have been murdered.  Ashley appeared to be a dead ringer at this point, but that’s too obvious.

Ms. Marin was not pleased with Hanna questioning her about her muddy clothes. Hmm, it looks like someone has something to hide!  Hanna ran into Mrs. DiLaurentis (Andrea Parker) where it appeared someone was watching the duo from inside the house.  Hanna met Tippi the talking parrot which has a menace for keeping track of people’s secrets; she sounded like Alison! In aflashback, Alison and her mother shared a lunch where her mom snuck a drink.  Ali lied about her friends coming to visit her atCape Mayas she attempted to create a scene.  Looks like Alison and her mom didn’t have the best relationship, she also revealed that Ali may have been with an older guy.  Any guesses as to who?

Ezra informed Spencer that being too honest is not helpful in college essays. She lashed out at Toby for giving “A” Mona’s mobile lair. He told Spencer that his mother killed herself while inside Radley. Toby was quite emotional as Spencer read the transcript the night that his mother died. He has reason to believe that his mother may have been murdered. Spence won’t be able to keep this secret for long from the other girls.

Emily took a pain pill to alleviate the pain on the shoulder, just as Shana attempted to buddy up with Emily before the big race. Emily got a bit drowsy during the race which caused her an injury to her head.  Is it possible that she was drugged by “A?” Spencer, Aria and Hanna met up where Hanna showed the girls Tippi, the talking bird, who began to whisper a song that was familiar to the girls and also mentioned something about a guy in shorts.

Hanna asked her mom if she was in New York the entire time she was gone, and she revealed that she did not kill Detective Wilden. Spencer got frustrated with Tippi, but not before she realized that Tippi was singing a phone number; a clue to who Alison may have been speaking to. Jake stopped by Aria’s place to discuss her previous actions and asked her out for coffee, just as Spencer continued calling.  Emily told Paige that “A” attempted to run her off the road.

The liars called the mysterious number that Tippi continued singing, but were stunned to realize that the bird was missing; someone snuck into the room and stole the talking parrot.  The final moments of the episode saw Ashley getting rid of her muddy shoes as someone watched from outside, just as a light went out.  If anything she should have stayed in the house.

The episode wrapped with “A” preparing dinner and feeding it to Tippi. So many new developments this episode. I’m looking forward to seeing what other information Tippi will reveal.  Until next week “PLL” fanatics!
