HOLLYWOOD—Only two more episodes await us before the season three finale of “Pretty Little Liars.”  Tuesday’s episode ‘Will the Circle Be Unbroken’ saw the liars grappling with the disappearance of one of their own as Spencer (Troian Bellisario) found herself inside of Radley Sanitarium.  Hanna (Ashley Benson), Emily (Shay Mitchell) and Aria (Lucy Hale) went searching for their BFF who was being tormented by nemesis Mona (Janel Parrish) after the ‘death’ of her boyfriend and “A” team member Toby (Keegan Allen).

Mona (Janel Parrish) relished at knowing that the other liars had no idea where Spencer is, but the ladies became concerned when Melissa (Torrey DeVitto) alerted the liars that her sis is M.I.A.  Inside Radley, Spencer seemed to fit right in with the staff and other patients.  She has been labeled amnesiac, a theory that she appears to want to perpetuate.  Ashley (Laura Leighton) continued to frantically search for Detective Wilden’s (Bryce Johnson) whereabouts. Ezra (Ian Harding) vented to Aria about his job search.

Spencer was stunned to encounter Dr. Sullivan (Annabeth Gish) counseling her inside Radley.  Dr. Sullivan questions Spence’s motives about her identity and she came clean with the truth.  She admitted to the doctor that Toby Cavanaugh is dead.  She began to emotionally unravel after revealing the truth to the doc. Bryon (Chad Lowe) was caught off-guard by her request to help Ezra find a teaching gig.

A shocker occurred when Detective Wilden showed up at Ashley and Hanna’s get together with Ted.  So the cop is not dead!  So that means it really was Toby’s body in the woods or another resident of Rosewood is dead. This is mind-boggling, I was certain Wilden was dead; this shocking turn of events is a game changer.  What are his plans for Hanna and Ashley, and just where was he hiding out.

Melissa was thrilled to reunite with her little sis, but torn over her reaction that she wanted to stay inside Radley.  Big sis attempted to talk some sense into her troubled sister.  Emily informed Hanna and Aria that Spence was wandering around the woods.  Hanna received a threatening image from “A” letting her know they know about her mother’s hit and run involving the Detective.  Spencer noticed the name tag of Radley staff E. Lamb that Toby was using to get access into the facility.

Emily asked Dr. Sullivan about Spencer’s mental state and that she saw Toby’s body.  Aria’s parents discussed options to assist their daughter’s complicated relationship, even considering helping Ezra in an attempt to get him to leave Aria alone.  Spencer was in complete denial that the body she saw may not have been Toby.  Our favorite liar began to realize she may have placed herself into a predicament that she is unable to get out of.

Emily had a conversation with Shana where she was introduced to Olympic superstar Missy Franklin.  I have a feeling that Shana may be moving in on Paige’s (Lindsey Shaw) girlfriend.  Can someone say love triangle.  Spencer further investigated Eddie Lamb about the importance of his badge, where he indicated that there was trouble with the old badges, but he never went into detail about what the issue was.  She indicated that someone stole his ID and Toby was visiting Mona.

He had inside information on Mona, and indicated there was trouble with the visitor passes involving a person on staff.  Could it be Wren?  Spencer discovered she was staying in the room that Mona had inside Radley.  A flashback revealed Ali and Spence in church singing a song alongside Mona about “Will the Circle Be Unbroken.”  The flashback revealed a cold Spencer not acknowledging Mona.  Ali refused to allow her BFF to read her diary about her mischievous intentions.

Hanna and her mother began planning for the worse, like moving toNew York.  Say it isn’t so, our feisty liar may be leaving Rosewood forever? Bryon met with Ezra one-on-one to discuss teaching opportunities.  Eddie revealed to Spencer that he met Toby when his mother was a patient inside Radley.  Interesting turn of events, just as the liars discussed ways to sneak in to see their best friend.  Aria decided to give a tongue lashing to Mona about her motives to place Spencer inside Radley.  “No your listen to me, if Spencer doesn’t get better you’re going to hope you broke your neck when you fell off that cliff,” shouted an angry Aria to her nemesis. The audience rarely sees Aria get angry so when she does, it obvious she means it. Mona better watch her back.

Aria got called to the principal’s office as he informed her that her boyfriend may be teaching at the school.  She lied to the principal about her relationship with Ezra, in hopes of helping her hubby gain employment. Looks she won’t be fraternizing with her boyfriend on school grounds.  Spencer was paid a visit by nemesis Mona.  She played coy as Mona attempted to pry into her psyche.  “Why did you kill Toby,” Spencer asked a coy Mona.  Mona admitted that Ali was never pregnant, because she revealed the news to her and she indicated that she had transcripts from Ali’s diary that Spence was dying to get a look at. Mona cryptically told Spencer that she needed her.

Ted was bit taken aback by the news that Ashley might be relocating to New York; so sad just as these two were starting to formulate something honest, until that creep Wilden caught his claws into Ashley.  Ted began speculating that maybe Ashley was keeping something from him involving Detective Wilden. Hanna stayed with Emily while her mom left town, just as Detective Wilden began to pushing Hanna’s buttons.  She decided to call his bluff by asking why he was following her.  “Honesty is tough,” said Hanna to Wilden as he inquired about where his car was located.  Just what was in that vehicle that he is so eager to get his hands on?  Maybe he killed someone as was attempting to cover it up, but someone completed the job for him.

In a group session, Spencer disclosed with Dr. Sullivan and other patients her issues.  A frazzled Spencer wore her emotions on her sleeve as she grappled with reality. Wow, she wasn’t speaking with Dr. Sullivan and other patients; she was speaking with the other liars. Spence has indeed lost it; is this what “A” was hoping for all along?

The episode concluded with someone in a hoodie looking up information for a Carnival expose.  There was memorabilia of the liars inside the vehicle that turns out to be a mobile trailer home that a member of the “A” team is using to move around Rosewood.  Who is this elusive figure and what do they have planned for the lairs.  Just two more episodes until the finale, next week looks stunning as another body turns up in Rosewood.  Any guesses as to who it may be?  Until next week “PLL” fanatics.
