SAN FRANCISCO —On Tuesday, September 11, the San Francisco Police Department called on the public for assistance with their investigation of the April murder of a 21-year-old.

According to a community alert released by the SFPD’s Homicide Detail, the homicide occured on April 2 around 10:30pm when Lawrence Richardson was leaving a corner grocery store located at Divisadero and Eddy Streets and was shot multiple times by several assailants.   Richardson is survived by his father, mother, many close friends, relatives and a 1-year-old baby girl.

Homicide investigators say the crime took place along a busy thoroughfare and a thriving neighborhood.   They are seeking anyone who witnessed the incident or has information that will help identify the individuals responsible for Richardson’s death.

Anyone with information about this case is urged to contact Inspector Velarde, Inspector Dedet or Sergeant Warnke of the SFPD Homicide Detail at (415) 553-1145 between the hours of 8am and 5pm, Monday to Friday.   Those wishing to remain anonymous may submit a tip to the Anonymous Tip Line at (415) 575-4444 or text a tip to TIP411 and begin the text message with SFPD.   Officers also suggest tipsters’ reference case number 120263653 when contacting police.
