SAN FRANCISCO—Radio Host Ray Taliaferro of KGO-810 Radio has been reported missing. He was last seen in Paducah, Kentucky on November 10. The 79 year-old radio host was last seen with the manager of the restaurant Mellow Mushroom, located at 3121 Broadway Street.  He was seen at the establishment earlier in the day and has not been spotted since.

A missing persons flyer was posted by the Paducah Police Department, explaining that Taliaferro may be disoriented and have signs of dementia.  He was last seen wearing a black turtleneck, black pants, and a black jacket.

Taliaferro is known for his talk show, the “Early Show” which ran from 1 a.m. to 5 a.m. from 1977 until 2011. He was a liberal commentator and based topics of discussion around politics, pop culture, and current news events.  He is known for being the first African American talk show host on a major radio station in the country. He was awarded the Black Chamber Life Award by the San Francisco Black Chamber of Commerce.  

Taliaferro’s car was reportedly found in a parking lot in Paducah a few hours after he was reported missing. Anyone with information regarding Taliaferro’s whereabouts is asked to contact the Paducah Police Department at (270) 444-8548.
