LOS ANGELES—The Los Angeles Rams lost to the Carolina Panthers 13-10 on Sunday, November 6.

The Rams lost despite an effective defense that managed to get several hits on Panther’s quarterback Cam Newton, including two sacks from defensive tackle Aaron Donald. Los Angeles’ offense has continued to wither this season, with quarterback Case Keenum completing just 27 of 46 passes for 296 yards, including one touchdown and one interception.

Keenum has now thrown more interceptions this season (11) than touchdowns (9). The mediocre offensive performance drew several boos and chants of: “We want Goff! We want Goff!” from Ram’s fans throughout the game. Despite losing support from his home crowd, Keenum took the boos in stride.

“I’m frustrated. I’m glad the fans care, and I care too,” said Keenum.  “I put a lot of hours and work into this, and it’s something I have worked for my whole life. So I’m glad they care because I care as well. When we’re not scoring points or moving the football it’s frustrating. I can tell [the fans] are frustrated; we’re frustrated too but we’re doing our best. We’re going to go back and look at it, and see what we have to fix and come back Monday ready to go.”

Los Angeles’ running back Todd Gurley continued to struggle this season, running for just 48 yards on 12 carries. Wide Receiver Kenny Britt caught four receptions for 49 yards while catching the Ram’s lone touchdown in the loss.

Panther’s quarterback and reigning NFL MVP Cam Newton completed 20 of 32 passes for 225 yards and one touchdown in Carolina’s third win of the season.

The Rams are now 3-5 on the season, falling to third place in the NFC West. Los Angeles will travel to New York for their next game against the Jets on Sunday, November 13.
