HOLLYWOOD—It’s hard to believe, but “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” is celebrating its 10th season. Yes, the Bravo hit that debuted back in 2007 kicked off season 10 on November 5 and in a major way. How might you ask? With the return of fan favorites, NeNe Leakes and Kim Zolciak-Biermann. Yup, the original gangsters are back in the fray for season 10, well NeNe a bit more than Kim who isn’t holding a peach at this current moment.

NeNe has been MIA since season 8, and when it comes to Kim, her last appearance on the series was during season 5. However, NeNe wasted no time getting into the foray of the mix chatting it up with her bestie Cynthia about Kenya Moore finally tying the knot in a ‘secret wedding.’ Well it already looks like this is going to be the big storyline for most of the season people 10. The one thing that is great about NeNe is she knows how to deliver shade during her confessionals that leaves one laughing on the floor if you ask me.

The fact that Kenya is not spilling any tea to her pals about her wedding or even sharing the name of her hubby already raises plenty of eyebrows if you ask me. I mean it’s one thing to not share details about your wedding, but if you can’t give your pals and the audience a name, that is a problem! I will admit this episode was a bit dry compared to drama; the most drama that the audience received was during the final 10 minutes of the episode which saw NeNe and Porsha being forced to have a conversation about their strained relationship.

I mean Kandi was busy working on her OLG restaurant, and reuniting with her original girl group Xscape. Sheree did nothing, but gossip per usual and continue to stir the pot. I swear this is all she did last season and seems like she will be doing the same thing this season as well. I’m really hoping Sheree gains a storyline, otherwise I don’t see much of a reason to keep her on the show.

The culmination of the episode was a big celebration for Cynthia Bailey who turned 50; well she turned 50 quite some time ago, but wanted to celebrate a big bash for her pals. The ladies came to the event donned in their best Cynthia Bailey costumes/attire, and Sheree managed to forced NeNe and Porsha to have a conversation with one another about the status of their friendship.

So for those not watching “The Real Housewives of Atlanta,” let’s be clear the best season to date had to be last year. That drama involving Kandi, Porsha and Phaedra (the now dearly departed) was a thrill-a-minute. I mean the fact that Phaedra weaved such a devious tale in her attempt to take down her former BFF was unbelievable. Phaedra continued to deny, deny until Porsha spilled the dirty truth during the reunion show and Phaedra was fired from the show.

NeNe had a ton to say about the incident and alluded that her former pal should be off the show. Let’s be clear NeNe never said fired, but it was slightly implied, but Porsha did not take that news well, and the rift exploded between these two ladies. NeNe wanted to talk about their entire history, whereas, Porsha wanted to discuss NeNe’s attempt to take her down. The two ladies bickered while it’s seemed all the other housewives and guests stared intently at what was transpiring.

The premiere episode was lackluster in my opinion, but based on the season 10 trailer, the drama will be huge this season with Kim and Kenya getting into a major catfight, Porsha and NeNe going toe-to-toe, and dare I say Kim and NeNe reigniting their rivalry with another feud. These two ladies have a love and hate relationship, when they’re on good terms they are on great, but when they are not speaking these two ladies can be nasty as hell people. “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” airs Sundays at 8 p.m. on Bravo.
