UNITED STATES—It’s always a little shocking that celebrities we grew up watching on TV, singing along to on the radio, idolizing in movies are actually aging. Nothing reminds you of your mortality faster than finding out “Urban Cowboy,” came out in 1980 and that “kids today” are actually tweeting things like “What’s Moondancing?”

Truth be told, there are plenty of stars who, because of their talent, maturity and accomplishments, always defy us into thinking they’re much older than they actually are- we still can’t quite wrap our heads around the fact that actress, model Amber Heard and “Wolf of Wall Street,” star Margot Robbie are both in their 20s.

These days, the biggest female stars in Hollywood are often the oldest, and there are more than you might realize. From Sandra Bullock to Cameron Diaz, these actresses aren’t letting four decades of existence slow down their career. As the saying goes, age is just a number. Some celebrities never seem to age and have found the fountain of youth.

If 40 is the new 20, then 60 is the new 40. Stars over 50 are redefining the standards of beauty. Here are some celebrities that look fabulous: At 69, Oscar-winner actress Helen Mirren has become the newest face for French cosmetics company L’Oreal.  Those days are gone when actress Isabella Rossellini was dropped by Lancome at age 40, reportedly for being too old.  Today, celebrity brand ambassadors actually look like the mature women they are meant to represent.

Look at Jane Fonda, 76, who became the oldest spokeswoman when she joined the brand in 2006 at the age of 68. At the age of 75, her scene-stealing beauty was magnificent in a commercial for L’Oreal’s Privee brand. Julianne Moore was also featured in that commercial at the age of 53.

Susan Sarandon, 68, teamed up with Revlon in 2004 at the age of 58.  Susan, last year, told “Oprah’s Master Class” that aging in Hollywood is a “losing battle” that women shouldn’t bother fighting. Susan also told Oprah, “empathy and generosity are very attractive qualities that make you beautiful, whether you’re a man or a woman.”

Talk show host Ellen DeGeneres, 56, has been an ambassador for Cover Girl since 2008. Oscar-winner Jessica Lange has found renewed success in “American Horror Story.” The 64-year-old actress is being celebrated for her timeless beauty. Marc Jacobs revealed that Lange was the new face of the fashion and cosmetic brand.

Along the same time Marc Jacobs was enlisting Lange, cosmetics giant Nars was recruiting British actress Charlotte Rampling, 68, fronting their 20th anniversary campaign. Next spring, Rampling will pass the baton to fellow British actress Tilda Swinton, 53, who will represent Nars in 2015. Tilda is known for her beauty, hitting the red carpet with hardly any makeup and a partially shaved head.

Who could forget about Diane Keaton for L’Oreal? When the cosmetics company added Fonda, they also added Diane, 68, who is known for her youthful appearance. After accepting the Cecil B. DeMille Award on Woody Allen’s behalf, she appeared even more youthful and wrinkle-free –in a L’Oreal commercial which aired right after. In the end…..the truth is age is just a number.

Rose’s Scoop: Joan Rivers’ daughter Melissa has retained the firm Gair, Conason, Steigman, Mackauf, Bloom & Rubinowitz, according to published reports. If the case goes to trial, jurors will have to determine how much longer she would have continued working and earning. The jury would also award money for any pain or suffering before, Melissa, 46, decided to take her mom off life support.
