HOLLYWOOD—It appears Emily (Emily VanCamp) is learning the hard way that there are always lives at stake in a person’s quest for vengeance. In episode four, “Mercy” the lives of both Conrad (Henry Czerny) and Father Paul were at risk. Victoria (Madeleine Stowe) had a heart-to-heart with Patrick (Justin Hartley) about her current situation. Emily was an emotional wreck when she discovered that Father Paul died. Her latest plan went awry and I wonder why?
Patrick was a bit inquisitive about Conrad’s whereabouts and Father Paul; hmm, it appears Emily could be building an ally with the son of her greatest foe. When Emily discovered that Father Paul was behind the wheel that ended in a fiery crash she was a bit dumbfounded. Our heroine is indeed wielding stronger bonds with her enemies. Emily, Nolan (Gabriel Mann) and Aiden (Barry Sloane) speculated what went wrong with the car crash.
It was a treat to seeVictoriabeg for a job at an art gallery. She appeared a bit taut in looking for work. A woman with so much power being forced to gravel at the knees of those that she walked on; pure classic. Nolan and Patrick continued to build a bond with one another, just as Emily decided to get back at Daniel (Joshua Bowman) for giving a statement on her behalf. In a stunning twist, Jack (Nick Wechsler) decided to offer his assistance to Emily! I thought the guy hated his true love’s guts. It appears his quest for vengeance is just as strong as Emily’s.
Daniel was not too pleased with Emily over the statement she gave on behalf of the new magazine launch. His anger was exceptional to Emily’s quip to “Don’t forget to set the alarm.” That was indeed a line that forced me to chuckle a bit. Nolan decided to dig into Patrick’s background as he fought the temptation to use his computer skills to his advantage.
Patrick attempted to sell a piece of Victoria’s artwork without her permission and called the art dealer’s bluff by using a bit of blackmail. Wow, like mother, like son. The apple does not fall far from tree. Emily and Jack discovered that Conrad was indeed behind the vehicle at the time it crashed. Emily informed Nolan of Jack’s intention to join the revenge clan. Emily decided it would be quite fun to taunt Victoria at her new place of work, as the ladies continued to take jabs left and right in the midst of Charlotte. Conrad educated his son a bit about playing games when it comes to relationships; just as Daniel asked his father the truth about the car crash.
Conrad received a startling call that left him a bit on edge, just as Nolan came face-to-face with a woman from Patrick’s past, who turned out to be his ex-wife. He used money as a form of getting the scorned lover to divulge details, to the tune of $20,000. Victoria called her boss’ bluff by putting her in a hot seat to takeover the art gallery. That woman is one devious piece of work; slick, deceptive and vindictive. Patrick showed up to congratulate his mother on her latest plan of destroying lives. Jack informed Emily that the brake line on Conrad’s vehicle was cut; and Emily thought Aiden was a suspect! How is that for the guy that has sold his soul to his former lover. Aiden was stunned to discover that Jack knows Emily’s true identity. A triple love triangle is forming, Emily has Aiden, Jack and Daniel vying for her affections.
Conrad called a family meeting to reveal that he does not suffer from Huntington’s disease; to say that he was angry would be an understatement. Victoria was relishing in Conrad’s misery. Emily was none too pleased with the news, as well as the fact that Daniel is beginning to question Emily’s motives. Nolan informed Patrick that he is well aware of his secret past and his attempt to blackmail worked as the duo shared a kiss. Wonder how Victoria will respond to the news? Jack discovered that Emily is planning to bring down the Grayson clan at her wedding and begged her lover to stay distant to ensure his safety.
Aiden dropped a bomb on Victoria and Conrad by revealing that his brake line was cut; the kicker was the fact that he revealed it was Jack Porter! Emily will not be too pleased with that information. So the bigger question “Revenge” fans is who do you think tried to kill Conrad? My guess is Charlotte, but I could be wrong. Until next Sunday “Revenge” lovers!
