SAN FRANCISCO—Air France Flight AF083 left from San Francisco and was diverted to Montreal after an anonymous threat was reported, according to the airline.

According to airport spokesman Francois Asselin, Flight AF083 landed in Montreal at Montreal-Pierre Elliot Trudeau International Airport on Monday, December 7. 

According to Asselin, the flight departed from San Francisco at 3:00 p.m., and was en route to Paris’ Charles de Gaulle airport, scheduled to arrive at 10:35 a.m. on Tuesday. 

Asselin stated there were 231 passengers and 15 crew members on board. All passengers were evacuated from the flight safely as inspectors searched the aircraft, passengers, and baggage.

Air France stated they will be taking all measures to ensure the safety of its passengers. Authorities have not disclosed the nature of the threat, and will continue to investigate.
