SAN FRANCISCO—A San Francisco resident suffered critical injuries after getting into a fight with a 50-year-old man in the United Nations plaza in downtown San Francisco on Thursday, October 27.

San Francisco Police Spokesperson Sgt. Michael Andraychak stated that the brawl took place around 4:30 p.m. According to Andraychak, the 20-year-old victim was stabbed multiple times before bystanders called authorities for assistance. The victim was transported to a local hospital to be treated for life-threatening injuries.

Andraychak noted that the suspect was arrested at the scene and taken to a nearby hospital for a hand wound he suffered from the knife he used in the attack. According to a Timesunion report, the suspect is expected to be charged with attempted murder.
