SAN FRANCISCO—A man was left with serious injuries and a woman was arrested after a stabbing in San Francisco on Monday, March 13.

The stabbing occurred in the area of Market and Seventh Streets after 11:30 p.m., according to the San Francisco Police Department. The 51-year-old victim was approached by a 36-year-old woman, authorities indicated.

According to reporters, the woman screamed and allegedly stabbed the man several times as he tried to run away. Police arrived on the scene and arrested the suspect. Her identity was not released to the public as a of Tuesday morning, and no motive for the stabbing was disclosed.

The victim was transported to a local hospital to be treated for life-threatening injuries. An update on his condition was not immediately available.
