SAN FRANCISCO—An unidentified victim reported being raped in a San Francisco State University (SFSU) dormitory on Saturday, November 21. The incident occurred around the hours of 3:00 a.m., according to campus police reports, the sexual assault was reported at 6:11 a.m.

According to SFSU campus police, the alleged assault occurred at the Mary Ward Hall, a six-story dormitory located on Font Boulevard by 19th Avenue, which serves as one of two designated first-time freshman housing options.

SFSU states that Mary Ward Hall houses approximately 410 students, eight of whom are residence housing assistants. There is also an attendant who operates the dormitory’s community desk, who is available to assist residents 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Police reports stated that the victim was incapable of providing consent at the time of the incident, but no specific details provided as to why the victim was not capable of consent.

The San Francisco News reached out to the SFSU’s campus attendants and housing representatives, who declined to comment on the incident due to the case being under investigation.

The victim’s identity and enrollment status have not been released to the public in an effort to respect the victim’s privacy, it has not been confirmed whether the victim is currently a student at SFSU.

SFSU spokesman Jonathan Morales could not confirm whether a suspect had been apprehended or taken in for questioning. No information has been released about the potential suspect responsible for the sexual assault.

Morales stated that campus police began an investigation upon the incident report, but no official announcement was made about the incident aside from the information released in the campus crime log.
