SAN FRANCISCO—An American from San Francisco has been reported missing after traveling to London. According to London police, 24-year-old Josh Sanchez-Maldonado is a financial trader, and went missing after traveling overseas for a job interview. 

Sanchez-Maldonado had never traveled outside the United States on his own. He was last seen heading out from the Saint Gils Hotel in Feltham, West London, on October 22.

According to family, Sanchez-Maldonado flew to London from Japan the day before his disappearance, and was due to fly back to San Francisco the next day. Sanchez-Maldonado reportedly did not catch his flight, and his family and friends have not heard from him at all this past week.

Sanchez-Maldonado’s family indicated they had spoken to him about his trip each day since he left to travel overseas. His father was last in contact with his son the day before he was reported missing.

His family is currently in the United Kingdom in hopes of finding him.

In a statement made to the London Metropolitan Police, Sanchez-Maldonado’s family said: “Josh is a lovable person and we have left our world back home to be here for him. He is very goal-oriented, very organized, detailed, kind, lovable and a respectful person. He has always kept in close communication to us. He is outspoken and very expressive… The whole family is highly concerned for his well being. We really wish he contacts us as soon as possible. Josh please contact us, your parents, your brother or sister through email, text, phone call or by any other means.”

Sanchez-Maldonado is described as Caucasian, about 5 feet and 8 inches tall, with a slim build and short, dark hair.
