SAN FRANCISCO—The ‘Green Glove Bandits,’ known for wearing green gloves during robberies, were arrested by the San Francisco Police Department’s Special Investigations Division on November 19. The SFPD Special Investigations Division had been conducting around the clock surveillance of the robbery crew.

A 44-year-old man named LaCarl Dow of San Leandro, and Namon Taylor, 37, of San Francisco, were both booked into the Alameda County Jail on robbery charges. According to a SFPD press release, “The bandits are suspected of committing over 20 armed robberies throughout the greater San Francisco Bay Area since May 2015” and are “suspected of committing at least six armed robberies in San Francisco.”

On November 19, the Bandits committed an armed robbery at a gas station located on the 2100 block of Orchard in San Leandro. The SFPD noted that the robbery crew were then taken into custody by San Francisco Police officers from units including, Special Investigations Division, Tactical Unit, Major Crimes Division, Gang Task Force, Northern Police Station Street Crimes Unit, Narcotics Division, and Tenderloin Station Investigative Team.

Even though an arrest has been made, investigation is ongoing as the coordination of law enforcement in numerous jurisdictions is being utilized.
