SAN FRANCISCO—Two men were arrested by plainclothes officers from the San Francisco Police Department after making a string of auto burglaries throughout the city.

On January 27, officers responded to an auto burglary located on the 100 block of Jefferson Street. When they located the suspects vehicle at the Palace of Fine Arts, they were committing another auto burglary. According to a the SFPD, officers held off on making an arrest because they were in a high-traffic area.

While taking surveillance, officers followed the suspects to the Golden Gate Bridge Welcome Center parking lot where they burglarized three more cars. The suspects drove to the Stonestown movie theatre parking lot where officers attempted to make an arrest. Both male suspects fled on foot, but were quickly caught and taken into custody.

Jared Wilson, 31, and Delvon Carter, 21, were arrested on five counts of second degree burglary. Authorities gathered over 40 pieces of stolen property in the suspects vehicle. Most of the stolen items were returned to the 18 victims through the five burglaries.

This is still an active investigation. The SFPD is asking anyone with information to contact the SFPD 24-hour TIP Line at 1-415-575-4444 or Text a Tip to TIP411 and begin the text message with SFPD.
