SAN FRANCISCO—Last week the San Francisco Police Department issued a press release requesting information regarding a fatal hit and run that occurred in the Westwood Highlands neighborhood.

The incident occurred at 5:27 p.m. on December 3, 2016, when a car fatally struck a 64 year-old woman and injured a 65 year-old man. They were crossing the street northbound at Monterey Boulevard and Valdez Avenue. The car struck Lanqing Dong and dragged her along the road for a short distance before fleeing the scene of the crime.

She sustained severe injuries and died shortly after the accident. Her companion was also struck by the vehicle, but suffered only minor injuries. His identity has not yet been disclosed to the public. The vehicle involved has been described as a dark-colored 1999-2003 Toyota Sienna Minivan.  A similar model in a lighter color has been included as the featured photo of this brief. The hit-and-run incident was one of two that occurred in a three-day period in the month of December.
