SAN FRANCISCO—The San Francisco Police Department in collaboration with Walgreens drugstores kicked off its 2017 Holiday Toy Drive on Thursday, November 2 to help children in need.

According to a press release from the SFPD, from November 2 to December 19, the SFPD will be accepting donations of new, unwrapped toys at more than 60 San Francisco Walgreens locations. The goal for 2017 is to exceed last year’s toy drive, where approximately 6,000 items were donated at Walgreens stores for distribution to San Francisco children.

“Something as simple as a toy can stir a child’s imagination and bring joy to youth in need,” said San Francisco Police Chief William Scott. “Please give generously to make this holiday season brighter for our City’s children.”

Donors can purchase or drop off a new, unwrapped toy at any local Walgreens that features a brightly colored and marked toy drive collection bin.
