SHERMAN OAKS—Yasiel Puig Valdés (known simply as Yasiel Puig), a 24-year-old Cuban outfielder for the Los Angeles Dodgers, has reportedly purchased a $1.8 million home in a gated Sherman Oaks community.

The two-story, 4,663-square-foot home sits behind tall Palm trees and a privacy wall.

At the entrance of the Mediterranean-style residence is a stone-floored domed skylight foyer with a wrought iron sweeping staircase.

The home has six bedrooms and six bathrooms and its amenities include a chef’s kitchen, a television surmounted fireplace, an aquarium, a den, and large formal spaces, including a family room with custom built-ins.

The master suite is spacious and includes a fireplace, an elevated bed platform, a wrought iron railed balcony, and two walk-in closets.

An outdoor barbecue station sports a large bar and a wine refrigerator.

Puig’s new backyard boasts a circular spa that spills into a pool. It also includes a built-in barbecue, a stone-countered wet bar, a wine fridge and a warming drawer.

Brian Pane of Wish Sotheby’s International Realty was the listing agent and Patricia Billings of Pinnacle Estate Properties represented Puig in the sale.

Puig, who also owns a home in Miami, hit 16 home runs and 69 RBI in the 2014 season. He has a .296 batting average.
