HOLLYWOOD—It is rare at the multiplex for a movie that was knocked out of the top spot to reclaim its position weeks later. Well, that has transpired this weekend with the horror flick “It” reclaiming its top spot at the box-office but by mere millions. “It” earned $17.3 million in its fourth weekend, bringing the flick within $10 million from crossing the $300 million mark at the domestic box-office. That is likely to transpire before the week ends.

Tom Cruise’s drama, “American Made” was not far behind earning $17.02 million to nab second place. Not a terrible debut, but after the performance of “The Mummy” this is welcome news for the actor. Falling to third place was last weekend’s winner, “Kingsman: The Golden Circle” with $17 million. The sequel has now earned over $66 million at the domestic box-office and will likely cross the $100 million mark before ending its run in theaters.

The animated flick “The Lego Ninjago Movie” earned $12 million to land in fourth place bringing its domestic tally to $35 million. Rounding out the top five was the remake of the 1990s classic “Flatliners” with a flat $6.7 million. I guess not ever remake or reboot is set to be a hit with movie fans. This weekend sees the return of Ryan Gosling and Harrison Ford to the multiplex with the highly anticipated sequel more than 30 plus years in the making “Blade Runner 2049.” Early reviews are praising the flick, but I hear it’s clocking in less than 3 hours America!
