WEST HOLLYWOOD—Drug store chain Rite Aid tried to dismiss claims of being negligent regarding an incident in which actor and model Corey Sligh was beaten by two suspects, Nikola Ilic and Dusan Lilic, at 7900 Sunset Boulevard on Thanksgiving night in 2014. Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Daniel Murphy denied the motion to dismiss the claims, saying that Rite Aid may be partially responsible for the incident.

Sligh, along with his girlfriend, Alisa Behorst, decided to stop by to visit a Rite Aid worker and friend, bringing with them food they had left over from a meal, when two men in a car began to make out of control donuts in their vehicle.

According to reports, Corey claims to have tried to stop them said, “So I just went up to them and said, look guys, they’re calling the cops, you gotta get out of here. And then he looked me dead in the eye, and kicked his door open into my chest. So I just started to walk off.”

The suspects sped their vehicle towards Sligh, injuring his leg and knocking him to the ground.

The actor then alleges that the two assailants went straight for him, stomping and kicking him, shattering bones in his right arm.

Ilic and Lilic were arrested the night of the incident.

Corey appeared in court on Tuesday, October 13, 2015, where Los Angeles Superior Court Judge, Daniel Murphy entered a motion to dismiss Rite Aid’s denial of negligence.

Security officer Armand Gascon, who was hired by Spear Management Co. and not Rite Aid, was presented to be “inneffictive” on the night of the incident, according to Sligh’s lawyer, who claimed Glascon “merely stood by and watched as the attack on the plaintiff took place.”

After being released from the hospital, Sligh released the following statement: “I have no hatred for these guys. I’m happy to have the problem of relearning to walk instead of not being able to walk at all. I’m pretty blessed.”

Alisa Behorst indicated in a statement to CBS Los Angeles, “I’m thankful he’s okay. I’m thankful that we didn’t get killed.”

Sligh has had appearances on the CBS soap “The Young ad the Restless” where he portrayed a bartender and waiter. Other work include various runway shows, such as Roberto Cavalli and Diesel. He also appeared in the film “God Is Dead.”
