A Stakeout outside the home of robbery suspect Giovani Ruiz Avalos led to his arrest Monday evening.

South San Francisco resident Giovani Ruiz Avalos, 20, allegedly robbed a man at gunpoint on the 600 block of Linden Avenue at approximately 2:50 a.m. on April 5. After pulling a gun on the man, the suspect states that Avalos fled the scene with his wallet.

Following his arrest, police obtained a warrant to search his residence and discovered undisclosed evidence that linked him to Sunday morning’s robbery.

Avalos already was facing prior allegations in connection with two robberies in San Mateo County. He now faces charges of robbery, participating in a criminal street gang, carrying a gun with intent to commit a felony, and committing a felony while out on bail.
