SAN FRANCISCO—Two male suspects driving a stolen van from the San Francisco Chronicle were arrested on Monday, December 29 following a high-speed chase that spanned multiple counties.

The chase, began at 8:27 a.m. on Highway 101 and led authorities over the San Mateo Bridge, ending when the van was cornered in a cup-de-sac in a San Leandro neighborhood.

The passenger, Rudy Martinez, 53, reportedly abandoned the van at 14th and Parrot Streets, attempting to evade officers on a bicycle before his arrest.

The driver, Andrew Rojas, 30, attempted to flee from police on foot, sprinting from the stolen van before his arrest after authorities found him in a nearby creek.

Both Martinez and Rojas have been booked at the San Francisco County Jail on suspicion of conspiracy and assault with a deadly weapon against officers. Rojas faces charges of auto theft and evading police officers.
