HOLLYWOOD—Looking to be the sleeper hit of the summer, “Straight Outta Compton” ruled the box-office for the third consecutive weekend taking in $13.2 million. The film has now earned more than $130 million at the domestic box-office and might remain on top for the Labor Day weekend as well.

Nabbing second place in a surprising debut was the Christian-based drama “War Room” with an impressive $11 million. Not bad for a film that didn’t have a ton of publicity beyond the last two weeks before its release. Landing in third place is Tom Cruise and company with “Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation” with another $8.3 million. Debuting in fourth place was the Owen Wilson thriller “No Escape” with $8.29 million. Since its release on Wednesday the movie has earned over $10.3 million.

Rounding out the top five is the horror film “Sinister 2” with $4.7 million. In just 2 weeks, the sequel has amounted over $18.5 million at the domestic box-office. Not having the best weekend was Zac Efron and the party-themed flick “We Are Your Friends” with a dismal $1.8 million. Yeah, that movie probably didn’t fill up many theater seats at all.

This weekend sees the release of the fourth installment in the “Transporter” franchise minus Jason Statham. “The Transporter Refueled” might have a tough time knocking “Compton” out of the top spot for moviegoers.
