SAN FRANCISCO—Officers from the San Francisco Police Department have arrested a suspect connected to the July 6 shooting death of a man on the 1700 block of La Salle Street.  Marckys Mendez, 20, of San Bruno, was taken into custody on July 24.

The suspect shot two individuals who were transported to San Francisco General Hospital to be treated for their injuries, where one of the victims succumbed to injuries he sustained from the shooting. Authorities also connected Mendez to a second shooting that took place on the unit block of Cameron Way where two more victims were shot.

One victim was found at the scene of the crime, the other victim was found at SFGH. Police expect both victims to survive from injuries they sustained. Mendez was booked at San Francisco County Jail on one count of murder, three counts of attempted murder, convicted felon in possession of ammunition and probation violation.
