SAN FRANCISCO—A bank robber dressed as Santa Claus entered an establishment near the intersection of Sutter and Stockton, taking an undisclosed amount of cash before leaving the building unchallenged.

The robbery suspect is described by police as a man in his 40s or 50s. He slipped a note to the teller at the Wells Fargo Bank demanding money, which the teller complied.

There were no reports of any injuries during the incident.

Authorities suspect the robbery was pre-meditated as  hundreds Santas were out in the public in Union Square.

Federal officials have released surveillance images of the suspect, seeking the public’s help.

The FBI and SFOD are working in conjunction on the investigation. Anyone with information about the identity or whereabouts of the suspect can contact their nearest FBI office or dial 911. Tips could also be submitted at tips.fib.gov.
