SAN FRANCISCO—Officers from the San Francisco Police Department Tenderloin Station helped save the life of a man who injured himself on March 3. The SFPD reported that they responded to the corner of Eddy Street and Leavenworth Street after receiving a call of a possible stabbing. Officers found a male lying in the middle of the street bleeding uncontrollably from his arm.

The officers immediately rendered aid and placed a department issued tourniquet on the victim’s right arm to control the bleeding. The victim indicated he was inside his apartment on Eddy Street when he got angry and punched his window,

The victim stated that he was inside of his apartment on Eddy Street when he became angry and punched his window, cutting his arm. The victim ran outside for help. He was taken to a local hospital in life-threatening condition, but was stabilized shortly after.
