HOLLYWOOD—Breakups are probably the worst thing that could happen to a person. Whether you’re parting ways with the love of your life, saying good-bye to a short-lived POF fling, or even watching your ex move on to the next one, no one should ever be left to grieve alone. While family and friends can console you, get over your sadness, they’re not always readily available as a shoulder to cry on.

When people aren’t there physically to support you, you can always turn to the one thing that never disappoints: music. Not only does music have healing powers, but there’s nothing more reliable to get you through those dark moments of your life. If you’re trying to get your ex out of your life once and for all, Beyoncé says it best: “To the left, to the left, everything you own in a box to the left.” While rap is notorious for showing off gold chains, fancy cars, and bands of cash, it also has a soft side. There is a track for each phase of your heartbreak.

Once you move into the anger phase, “IDFWU” by Big Sean and E-40 never disappoint. Let’s look at some of the songs, whether you’re sulking or turning the other cheek. For the early stages, when you’re playing the blame game, and questioning how all this happened, you can find the answers with Kanye West in “Heartless.” If you realize that you and your other half aren’t good for each other turn to Childish Gambino in “Heartbeat.” J. Cole sings the sad truth on the track “Nothing Lasts Forever.” That track will help you confront your heartbreak head-on.

Alright, are you ready for a tearjerker; the only thing better than a friend crying with you is “Song Cry,” by Jay-Z. Keep the cryfest going with Ne-Yo’s “So Sick.” If you want storytelling at its finest. When you are tired of rehashing the details of your break-up for all of your friends, listen to “Undying Love,” by Nas. Yes, a few drinks might have you reminiscing about that old flame more than you’d like to, remember Drake’s advice; “You could do better.”

Listen to Drake’s “Marvin’s Room.” You ever love someone so much you hate them? Let the anger out with Tyler, The Creator “IFHY.” Need help in staying in the anger stage? Look no further than Machine Gun Kelly and “The Break Up.” Ah yes, “Falling for you was my mistake.” Listen to The Weeknd “Call Out My Name,” when you’re preparing to let go of the past. Breaking up is hard to do, but moving on is even harder. Every day is a battle, even when you are almost there at the end of the light. Try the Wale, “The Break Up Song.”

Look, you have to come to terms with the end of your relationship, and being able to look back on it fondly you need a little of Frank Ocean, the “Ivy.”  We all need love, but we also need self-love, listen to SZA f/ Travis Scott in “Love Galore.” The ultimate goodbye is like Queen Bey said in her song “Irreplaceable.” Life is too short, to play games. So consider this song as a first and final warning, Cardi B “Be Careful.”

Hopefully, these songs will help rapper Lil Xan and Noah Cyrus get through the break-up. The rapper Lil Xan said he needed to go to the hospital on September 24, after eating too many Hot Cheetos. The Total Xanarchy rapper posted a message to his five million followers on Instagram after being discharged. He said in a statement, “I was in the hospital not due to any drugs, but I guess I ate too many Hot Cheetos,” he said with a laugh. The 22-year-old alarmed his fans by posting a photo of himself in the back seat of an ambulance on his IG story. The rapper’s Total Xanarchy tour kicks off in New York City on September 26.

Last month, People confirmed that Xan and the 18-year-old singer and youngest Cyrus sibling were dating. Weeks later, they made their public debut at the MTV Video Music Awards. Lil Xan, whose real name is Diego Leanos, blames himself for the break-up. Noah Cyrus, 18, and Lil Xan shared a series of emotional posts where they spoke about how people are always using them while appearing to discuss what had gone wrong with their relationship. While the rapper no longer has any photos of the pair together on his Instagram, Cyrus has yet to delete any images of them together.
