HOLLYWOOD—It has been painstakingly difficult waiting for the second half of Tyler Perry’s “The Haves and the Have Nots” to return back to the airwaves. Well, the wait is over. Veronica, the mother from hell has seriously lost her marbles. Besides her tryst with Benny, a man half her senior, she decided to teach her hubby David a lesson by setting their home on fire.

So did David get out in time? Yes, but barely, as he wife sat casually on the porch. He was still shocked to realize his wife is a devious fiend. Maggie alerted Jim and Katheryn that she would do her best to keep press away from the Amanda’s funeral. The Cryer’s learned from Maggie that there was a fire at the Harrington mansion.

Hanna spilled the beans to Candace that Quincy has her son; our wise one was beyond stunned with the revelation. Hanna being the devout Christian raised hell upon her daughter. The news about her son left Candace in a tearful state. Oscar did his best to console Candace, who was in need of a hug. Perhaps the return of her son will be just what Candace needs to cross over from the dark side.

Benny informed Hanna that he sparred with Quincy, and she was stunned to learn that Benny was driving David’s vehicle. Hmmm, after his tryst with Veronica, I wonder what Benny will do when he learns his new lover is responsible for unleashing a monster on his family. Veronica was not pleased to see Maggie come to David’s aide. Jim was stunned to learn that Veronica started the blaze, and he revealed to David that Wyatt spilled the beans to the DA, which left the parents reeling.

Jeffrey and Landon spent the night together, but it became apparent that Jeffrey had his mind on other things. Wyatt stopped by Jeffrey’s room, and was a surprised to come face-to-face with Landon. It took Wyatt a second, but he realized that Jeffrey and Landon slept together, and bolted.

The District Attorney arrived at the Harrington abode and accused Veronica of intentionally starting the blaze; well she did start the fire. Katheryn was not pleased to learn her bestie refused to reveal she had Jeffrey’s car the entire time.

Jeffrey immediately realized that his mother started the fire. Candace spent the night with Oscar, who seemed to be more interested in getting to know Candace. The softer side of Candace is something new to the viewers. Something isn’t right about that guy, he was willing to spend thousands to sleep with her and now, he’s her new best friend.

Hanna and Benny were surprised to see Candace stop by the house, and the tension could be cut with a knife. Candace was slightly relieved to learn that Quincy is behind bars. Finally, the Young clan has reunited to locate Candace’s son. Her mother was stunned to hear her daughter make plans to attend Amanda’s funeral. Looks like Benny is planning to bail out Quincy to get the goods on his nephew’s whereabouts.

Veronica took a call from Benny, and the two lovebirds made plans for another meeting. I’m really looking forward to see where this narrative is headed. David did his best to reconcile his marriage, but it is evident that Veronica has bid adieu to her hubby. Celine stopped by the Cryer residence where she delivered a slap to Wyatt’s foul mouth, which prompted Jim to lose it and beat the crap out of his son. The final moments of the episode was a stunner as Wyatt teased to Hanna that he was responsible for Benny’s accident. Veronica emerged from the staircase looking to cause trouble; the devil is indeed dressed to impress.

I’ve been hooked on this series since the first episode and I can’t WAIT to see what other surprises are in store for audiences the rest of the season. “The Haves and the Have Nots” airs Tuesdays at 9 p.m. on OWN.
