SAN FRANCISCO—The San Francisco Police Department is asking for the public’s help in locating the suspect(s) responsible for a double murder that transpired in the Dolores Heights region. On Saturday, September 30, at around 9:31 a.m. officers from the SFPD were called to the region of 21st and Rayburn Streets to check on the well-being of two people inside a vehicle.

According to the SFPD, police made contact with the occupants inside the car and discovered an adult male and adult female who were suffering from gunshot wounds. Authorities rendered aid and summoned medical assistance, but both victims were pronounced deceased at the scene. The names of the victim’s have not been disclosed to the public. The crime scene was investigated for several hours where a gun was retrieved.

A child seat was found inside the car though, but information by investigators indicates that there is not a child in danger. Police do not suspect a suspect on the loose or that the neighborhood is at risk. The incident and circumstances surrounding these deaths are being investigated by the SFPD Homicide Detail and the Office of the Medical Examiner.
