SAN FRANCISCO—According to preliminary data that was released by the state, South San Francisco’s unemployment rate has gone down from 7.2 percent in February to 7.0 percent in March.

As a whole, the state ofCaliforniasaw a minor decrease in the unemployment rate all around, with unemployment dropping from 9.7 percent in February to 9.4 percent in March.

These figures are not seasonally-adjusted, which signifies that temporary seasonal work such as holiday employment is not a contributing factor to the overall rate.
