SAN FRANCISCO—On Monday, February 11, the San Francisco Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Unit arrested three suspects involved in several violent crimes, as stated in a press release from the SFPD website.   The three suspects are identified as Arthur Gonzalez, 34, Gary Green, 20, and Socorro Santiago, 18, all residents ofSan Francisco.  The suspects were involved in an attempted robbery of a jewelry store located by 23rd and Mission Streets. Authorities confiscated a loaded firearm and ski masks in the suspects’ possession when they were apprehended.

The suspects were also indentified in two more robberies that took place in the San Francisco area. All three suspects used a vehicle that was carjacked to commit an armed robbery at a jewelry store on the 300 block ofWest   Portal Avenueon January 26. During the robbery, four suspects entered the store, two armed with firearms. The owners were held at gunpoint, while two of the suspects broke glass display cases with hammers.   The suspects were able to get away with over $80,000 worth of jewelry during the crime. The suspects fled the scene and discarded the vehicle which SFPD authorities later located.

Officials used leads from the January 26 incident that led to the identification of Santiago, Green and Gonzalez on February 8 at a gas station robbery near Cesar Chavez and Hampshire. The three culprits have been charged with multiple counts of robbery, attempted robbery and conspiracy associated to these robberies.  Green was also charged with firearms violations.

Investigators from the CIU have contacted other law enforcement agencies in the Bay Area to determine if the suspects are connected to other robberies.  Officials are working to identify and apprehend at least three other suspects who are suspected to be involved in the West Portal robbery.  Anyone with any information is being asked to contact Inspector Maguire of the Criminal Investigations Unit at (415) 553-1753 with any additional information.
