SAN FRANCISCO—Officials from the San Francisco Police Department are searching for the suspect responsible for attacking an elderly woman on January 8. The SFPD reported that on January 8, at approximately 6:45 a.m., officers responded to a home on the 1000 block of Visitacion Avenue. A witness indicated seeing an unknown male suspect exit the home from an interior staircase before walking eastbound on Visitacion Avenue.

Officers discovered an 88 year-old female who sustained severe head injuries in a park across the street. The victim was taken to a local hospital where she is still being treated for life-threatening injuries.

Investigators believe the unknown suspect attacked the victim in the park and later entered her home across the street before fleeing the region. The suspect is described as an African-American male in his 30s, standing approximately 5 feet and 6 inches tall, with a skinny build. A dedicated team of investigators from the SFPD Special Victims Unit are actively working the case.
