SAN FRANCISCO—A woman was found suffering from a gunshot wound in the Mission District on Wednesday, December 14, by officers from the San Francisco Police Department. Officers who arrived on the scene discovered a 21 year-old woman at 2:45 a.m. near the 800 block of South Van Ness Avenue.

The victim, who was taken to a local hospital, where she was later pronounced dead, has been identified as Lisa Williams.

Authorities are searching for the suspect who has been described as a male, who was last seen entering a black vehicle armed with a handgun. No other details on the suspect have been disclosed by authorities. Williams death brings the total number of homicides in the city of San Francisco in 2016 to 51.
