REDWOOD CITY—Mountain View resident and youth home counselor Francis Caceres, 28, was incarcerated for engaging in sex with an underage female client on Thursday, January 12. Caceres was taken into custody at approximately 9:00 a.m., authorities noted.

Officials obtained evidence of Caceres’ relationship with an unidentified 15 year-old Redwood City resident on December 27, 2016 after receiving a phone call from Child Protective Services in San Mateo County.

According to the San Mateo Sheriff’s Office, Caceres reportedly met the unidentified teenager in July 2016 at Your House South in Redwood City, where the girl was living. Caceres was working as a youth counselor at the facility, a group home which provides short-term residence to minors with family problems or who have left home.

He was fired from Your House South in August, prior to the start of a  police investigation, said Sal Zuno, a representative for the sheriff’s office. Authorities have not provided a specific reason for his dismissal, and it is unclear as to whether or not he was dismissed for a relationship with the 15 year-old resident.

Evidence obtained revealed that Caceres and the teen allegedly engaged in sexual behavior at an unknown location outside of the group home, police said.

Caceres was working as a youth counselor at Tayler Group Home in San Jose until Thursday, January 12, 2017. He is currently being detained at the Maguire Correctional Facility in Redwood City on a bail of $200,000.
