SAN FRANCISCO—Authorities from the San Francisco Police Department made three arrests on Tuesday, December 27 in connection to the fatal stabbing of a 26-year-old man in San Francisco’s Tenderloin District in November.
San Francisco residents Edgar Gutierrez, 21, Roberto Ventura, 33, Norlan Casco, 21, were arrested for suspicion of murder and transported to San Francisco County Jail. Gutierrez and Ventura were also booked on unrelated charges.
On the night of November 18, police responded to reports of a stabbing near Hyde and McAllister Streets, near the UN Plaza. According to reports, officers found the victim, Zachary Banks, suffering from multiple stab wounds.
Paramedics transported Banks to San Francisco’s General Hospital, where he later died from his injures, police said.
“He was a brother, an uncle, a nephew and a best friend to many,” Bank’s Mother, Raquel Fresquez, said on his GoFundMe campaign.
“I have vowed to spend the rest of my life making sure the individuals responsible for his death are held to justice. The DA has put a very tall order in front of us in order for justice to be served,” Fresquez said.
