SAN FRANCISCO—On Sunday, May 31, the San Francisco Fire Department announced that they battled a fire at a building shortly after 9 p.m. on the 100 block of Caine Avenue with fire on the top floor.

When units arrived they were met with heavy fire on the entire 2nd story of a home with fire blowing out the windows. Units quickly deployed their hose lines and searched the building for any remaining occupants.

Crews battled intense heat and flames throughout the 2nd floor and kept the fire to a 1 alarm fire. A total of 9 people were displaced and 5 requested Red Cross for temporary housing. One cat and one bunny died in the fire. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
