HOLLYWOOD—I had a gut feeling as soon as the big narrative involving Cullum and Sidwell came to an end, things would become very stale on “General Hospital.” I was right to think that because it feels like the writers are scrambling at straws to find a story that may hook viewers, but I don’t see it.
So now, Sonny Corinthos wants to get involved in Carly’s love life yet again, this time because she’s dating Valentin Cassadine. Carly has never interjected herself into Sonny’s life, this is one time where I’m agreement with Carly Spencer: mind your own business, Sonny. Carly and Sonny are no longer together, so Sonny let Carly do her own thing.
Sonny in case you forgot, it was your mob war with the Jerome family that led to the death of your son Morgan. It was your mob ties that led to Michael getting shot and placed into a coma for years as a result. I can keep listing how Sonny’s antics has placed his family in more danger than Carly. Now at the same time, I would be intrigued to see Sonny and Valentin go toe-to-toe.
Sonny has his threatening tactic of violence, while Valentin utilizes his machinations from the WSB. What does that mean? Valentin has more tactics that could prove dastardly for Sonny if he decides to go to war with this actual villain. Onto other news, I really thought Brook Lynn and Chase’s marriage was going to explode after he discovered her role in trying to set-up Willow for Jordan’s car crash.
Here is the crazy part that information has still not come out that Brook Lynn was the culprit, but Tracy knows, I’m just wondering when Chase will discover that truth and what unfolds when he does. Willow, Brennen and Nina are so hellbent on recovering that ‘Black Box’ that someone stole from the Wyndemere. I know this is going to sound crazy, but I’m shipping a romance between Brennen and Nina. These two have some chemistry and it seems Brennen is actually willing to help Nina protect Willow from Drew.
Hate to say it, but at this point, Drew Cain can go. He really is not that missed as a character if you ask me. I mean both of Willow’s children know he can move and he’s giving the illusion that he can’t which means when he strikes, I can sense the soap opera might actually kill off this character. Would that be great for his daughter Scout, who has already lost her mother? Absolutely not, but to move the story along, it might be and in some soapy way, bring Sam McCall back to the canvas as she should have never left to begin with.
I’m so happy to see Anna Devane back in Port Charles, but I thought again this mess with Cullum and Sidwell is over, but it seems Anna might be trying to pinpoint who shot him, which means Lulu, Dante and Laura could all be in serious trouble for getting rid of that report noting it was Rocco. Anna has to worry about her mental state as she is seeing visions of Peter August of all people.
Could Peter be coming back? “General Hospital” desperately needs a new villain and the fact that they’ve introduced 2 new characters in the past few months with all the people already on canvas, things are getting too crowded to me. We have a new surgeon at “GH” who seems to have a connection to Jason Morgan and looks like a potential romance partner for Britt. I’m not sure yet. Not to mention Detective Fitzpatrick, who I’m not sure is a potential love interest for Lucas or someone else on the canvas.
Portia gave birth to her baby after going into labor a bit earlier than expected as a result of her getting into an argument with Jordan. Thankfully, Jordan stuck around a bit longer, otherwise Portia might have been in serious trouble as she wasn’t able to get to her cellphone to call for help. Maybe these two ladies could turn over a new leaf after enduring a crisis together. A new a storyline to hit front-and-center very fast on “General Hospital” because I’m getting a bit bored.
