SAN FRANCISCO—The San Francisco Police Department announced on Tuesday, July 28 that they have arrested 3 suspects connected to a shooting that transpired on July 27.
The SFPD reported on July 27 at approximately 2:58 p.m. officers assigned to the Drug Market Agency Coordination Center (DMACC) were patrolling the area of Market and Jones Streets when they heard gunshots. Officers searched the area and discovered that a victim had been shot, and the suspect fled the scene on foot. Officers rendered aid to the victim and medics arrived on scene who transported the victim to the hospital for life threatening injuries.
During the investigation, three suspects were identified. Officers responded to Waller Street to search for the suspects. At approximately 5:52 p.m. officers spotted the suspects exit an apartment complex located on the 100 block of Waller Street. As officers attempted to detain the suspects, who attempted to flee from officers and a foot pursuit ensued. Officers were able to quickly detain the suspects after a brief foot chase. Officers developed probably cause to arrest: Donovan Redmond Hayes, 22, and Deandre Gippson, 30, both of San Francisco. Officers seized a loaded firearm and other evidence connected to the incident.
Hayes and Gippson were transported to the SF County Jail where they were booked for the following felony charges.
Hayes was booked for attempted murder (664/187 PC), felon in possession of firearm (29800(a)(1) PC), carrying concealed firearm (25400(a)(2) PC), carrying loaded firearm in public (25850(a) PC), felon in possession of ammunition (30305(a) PC), and an Alameda County Arrest Warrant for the violation of petty theft (484 PC).
Gippson was booked for felon in possession of ammunition (30305(a) PC) and possession of methamphetamine (11377(a) PC).
The investigator developed probably cause of obtain a search warrant for the residence of one of the suspects. Officers served the search warrant at the residence located on the 100 block of Waller and located and seized evidence related to the shooting.
At approximately 12:30 a.m. officers found a third suspect on the 5400 block of 3rd St. Officers developed probable cause to arrest the suspect and placed him into custody. The third suspect was identified as Terry Brown, 26. He was arrested for felony charges or assault upon a person with a firearm 9245(a)(2) PC), convicted felon in possession of a firearm (29800(a)(1) PC), carrying a concealed firearm 25400(a)(2) PC), carrying a loaded firearm in public (25850(a) PC), and probation violation (1203.2(a)PC).
