SAN FRANCISCO—On Tuesday, August 19, 2025, the San Francisco Police Department disclosed that a suspect has been arrested in connection to a double homicide that occurred in 2015.
The SFPD reported on January 27, 2015, at approximately 4:15 p.m., officers assigned to Bayview Station responded to the area of Revere Avenue and Ingalls Street regarding a shooting.
Officers arrived on scene and located a female suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Officers rendered aid, and paramedics transported the victim to a local hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
Through the course of the investigation, dispatch advised officers that an additional victim was in the area of Bayshore and Oakdale Avenue. Officers responded to the area and located a second victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds sitting in the front passenger seat of a vehicle. The victim was transported to a local hospital by paramedics and was declared deceased upon arrival.
In August 2024, Homicide Cold Case Investigators took over the case. During the investigation, officers developed probable cause to believe Anthony Tyree, 34, was responsible for the murder of both victims.
On August 13, 2025, homicide investigators obtained an arrest warrant for Tyree. On Monday, August 18, 2025, at approximately 3 a.m., homicide investigators with the help of SFPD TAC served a search warrant at Tyree’s residence located in Pittsburg, CA.
Officers placed Tyree under arrest and located and seized an AR-15 short-barreled rifle from his residence. He was transported to San Francisco County Jail and booked for two counts of murder (187(a) PC), attempted murder (664/187(a) PC), and felon in possession of a firearm (29800(a)(1) PC).
Homicide Cold Case investigators are continuing to make strides in older cases, closing eight cold case incidents as of year-to-date. The SFPD is still investigating the case.
