SAN FRANCISCO—On Friday, September 5, the SFPD reported that they arrested three suspects connected to a robbery that transpired on Hayes Street. The SFPD reported on September 3, at approximately 9:20 a.m., officers responded to the area of Geary Boulevard and Divisadero Streets regarding a robbery.

Officers arrived on scene and located a juvenile victim on the 1000 block of Hayes Street. Officers were advised that the victim was walking when she was approached from behind by an unknown male suspect. The suspect robbed the victim of her property and fled to a nearby vehicle with a suspect waiting in the driver’s seat. There were no injuries sustained as a result of the incident.

With help from members assigned to the Real Time Investigation Center (RTIC), a member of the Citywide Plainclothes Team located the vehicle near the area of Bryant and Rincon Streets, traveling onto the Bay Bridge. The officer surveilled the vehicle, which led onto the city streets of Oakland.

Additional SFPD members responded to the region, as well as CHP Air Support and the Oakland Police Department. Units on scene coordinated and developed a strategic plan to safely apprehend the vehicle and take the suspects into custody.

Officers conducted a traffic stop of the vehicle, and all three occupants were taken into custody without further incident. They developed probable cause to arrest Kevin Leiva-Hernandez, 24, Ricardo Chavez-Hernandez, 23, and a juvenile suspect.

Leiva-Hernandez and Chavez-Hernandez were booked into San Francisco County Jail for robbery (211 PC) and conspiracy (182 PC). The juvenile was booked into the Juvenile Justice Center for robbery (211 PC) and conspiracy (182 PC).
