HOLLYWOOD—Big updates are headed to the public’s way in two of the biggest franchises in the movie universe. Last week director Bryan Singer announced that Oscar-winner Anna Paquin, who portrayed Rogue in the “X-Men” films will not appear in the upcoming “X-Men: Days of Future Past,” he told Entertainment Weekly. Paquin was expected to appear in a rescue scene alongside Shawn Ashmore (Iceman), Magneto (Ian McKellen) and Professor X (Patrick Stewart).
The latest foray into the mutant universe involves the original cast and the cast for the prequel “X-Men: First Class.” “X-Men: Days of Future Past” arrives in theaters on May 23, 2014.
Actor Vin Diesel announced on Sunday that the seventh installment in the franchise will arrive on April 10, 2015. Diesel released the news on his Facebook page accompanied with a photo of the last scene he filmed withWalkerfor the movie. “The last scene we filmed together…There was a unique sense of completion, of pride we shared… in the film we were now completing… the magic captured… and, in just how far we’ve come…Fast and Furious 7 will be released…April 10th 2015!”
Production on the seventh film was halted after Walker and his friend Roger Roads was killed in a car crash on November 30.
