SAN FRANCISCO—A man was arrested after he set fire on Monday, March 13, to a boat docked near the St. Francis Yacht Club in the Marina District of San Francisco. The suspect later jumped into the water after setting the boat on fire, officials reported.

The suspect, a 41-year-old man set the boat ablaze about 1:26 a.m. in a berth off Yacht Road. The suspect’s name has not been disclosed to the public. When officers arrived, they fished the suspect out of the water. Once the suspect was back on land, he was arrested and taken into custody by officers from the San Francisco Police Department.

There were no reports of any injuries from the fire. An investigation is currently underway in order to pinpoint a motive for the fire.
