Randy Jacobs was sleeping in a driveway when struck and killed by an SUV.

SAN FRANCISCO—A man sleeping outside a private apartment garage was struck and killed by an SUV leaving the complex at 6:40 p.m. on December 19.

On Monday, December 22, the identity of the man killed in the South Market Neighborhood was identified as Randy Jacobs, 53. Jacobs, a homeless individual, who was pronounced dead on the scene.

Police have determined that the driver of the SUV was not negligent in striking Jacobs, and will not likely face any criminal charges.
