SAN FRANCISCO—Two suspects responsible for two separate robberies that took place on April 4 have been arrested by authorities from the San Francisco Police Department. Both incidents involved the suspects stealing smart phones from the victims.

Edwin Tobie, 19 and Ernest Evans, 20, both of San Francisco were apprehended by police on Thursday night.  At around 6:20 p.m., officers from the Tenderloin Police Station spotted the vehicle described in both robberies near McAllister and Hyde Streets. The suspects attempted to flee authorities when they attempted to stop the vehicle, but police were able to apprehend Tobie and Evans after their vehicle crashed at Herman and Steiner Streets. There were no reports of any injuries.

The first robbery occurred at 10:12 a.m. where the victim was walking towards Glen Park Bart nearBaden and Monterey Streets. Both suspects rushed behind the victim and aggressively snatched the smart phone.  They then entered a maroon vehicle that was waiting in the area. The victim was able to provide police with a partial reading of the suspect’s license plate.

The second robbery took place at 4:19pm, where the victim was walking in the vicinity of Folsom Street and The Embarcadero when the suspects approached the victim and snatched the smart phone. Both suspects ran to the same vehicle that that was described during the first robbery. The victim in this incident was also able to provide authorities with a partial license plate.

Both suspects were booked at the San Francisco County Jail on robbery, conspiracy, possession of stolen property and other related charges.
