SAN FRANCISCO—On Tuesday, September 22, the San Francisco District Attorney’s Office announced that the conviction of Marquez Harrison, 32, and LaCarla Carr, 44, after a trial by jury for homicide and several other charges.
Harrison and Carr were both convicted of first-degree murder (PC 187(a)). Harrison was additionally convicted of personally discharging a firearm causing death (PC 12022.53(d)) and being a felon in possession of a firearm (PC 29800(a)(1)). Carr was additionally convicted of permitting a loaded firearm in a vehicle (PC 26100(a)) and being an accessory after the fact (PC 32).
According to testimony and evidence presented at trial, on November 27, 2014, Harrison and Carr drove through the Potrero Hill Housing Development in a stolen vehicle looking for victim Da’Ron Raynaldo. When they saw Raynaldo walking outside his home, Carr immediately drove in the direction of Raynaldo and stopped the vehicle when she pulled up in front of his residence. Harrison exited the vehicle and shot the victim nine times as Raynaldo ran back towards his home. Two rounds struck the victim in the back.
“I would like to thank the jury for holding defendants accountable for this senseless murder,” said Assistant District Attorney Ryan J. King. “Mr. Raynoldo will be forever loved and remembered by his friends and family.”
