SAN FRANCISCO—On Monday, June 22, the San Francisco Fire Department announced two tourists had to be rescued near the Golden Gate Bridge. The incident was reported at 4 p.m. after the tourists went 150 feet off a trail near the Golden Gate Bridge.
Multiple 911 callers called to report the 2 stranded people and when SFFD Cliff Rescue and Heavy Rescue personnel arrived they formulated a plan to work with CHP Golden Gate Division to grab the 2 victims by hoisting them to safety.
Awaiting SFFD paramedics where both were evaluated but were not injured. Both were cited by National Park Police for going off the trail.
