CAMPBELL—Two tow truck drivers suffered injuries on Tuesday morning, September 23, 2025, after a vehicle hit them while they worked at the site of a crash, according to NBC Bay Area.
The crash happened at about 11:08 a.m. in the area of San Tomas Expressway and Hamilton Avenue. Campbell police reported that the incident occurred as the men provided assistance with an earlier collision.
Officers explained that the drivers had parked their trucks and stepped out to clear the roadway after a two-car collision. While they worked near the scene, another vehicle traveled into the area and struck both men.
Medical personnel responded quickly and transported the injured drivers to a hospital for treatment. Doctors determined that both victims suffered injuries that required care, but their condition stabilized after they received medical attention. The men remained hospitalized as of Tuesday afternoon.
Investigators stated that the driver who hit the workers stayed at the location of the crash and fully cooperated with police. Authorities added that preliminary findings did not show alcohol or drugs as contributing factors in the collision.
The case remains under review as police examine what circumstances led to the drivers being struck while performing their work duties at the crash site.
